I am a freelance artist, musician, writer & poet
Hope One is a Takatāpui Beatboxer, Writer, Performer, Mother from Te Ātihaunui-a-Papārangi and Taranaki iwi of Aotearoa. Fusing together Beatboxing, Spoken Word, Drag and Movement to deliver captivating Beat Rhyming experiences about identity,
culture, queerness, motherhood and navigating trauma.
As a member of the legendary Beatbox Alliance and a top-four finisher in the female division of the World Beatboxing Championships, Hope One is a world-renowned and highly respected artist. Producing four national beatboxing tours under their belt, Hope One has reached over 5,000 young people across New Zealand and Australia. They have shared the stage with some of hip hop's biggest names and gained worldwide recognition through touring with the multi-award-winning theatre show, Hot Brown Honey.

Hot Brown Honey
Hope One is a versatile performer who brings a unique energy to the ensemble cast of Hot Brown Honey. Recruited in 2013 as part of a fundraiser at SYC Studios, Hope has been touring with the crew ever since. Starting off as a silent butler, Hope's skills have only grown, reaching new heights as a main character of the show.
Their butler skills are impeccable, smoothly and silently striking props, all while maintaining character, dancing, lip syncing, beatboxing, acting, cracking jokes, serenading the crowd, and making lightning-fast costume changes. Hope's multifaceted talents are a major contributor to the success of Hot Brown Honey's electrifying performances.

Introducing Hope, a seasoned beatboxer, sound performer, and microphone artist who has entertained audiences across the world. Hope's career has taken her to some of the biggest stages, from major festivals and corporate events, to underground bars and private shows for the world's elite. At just 18 years old, Hope made her mark on the music scene as a contestant on Australian Idol, paving the way for female beatboxers everywhere. As a respected mentor and leader in her industry, Hope also judges beatboxing competitions across Australia and produces her own tours in New Zealand, spreading her passion and skills to thousands of people.
